Product Description
Don Julio Arango Y Parra's family tree can be traced back to Severo Arango Y Ferro who arrived in Nueva Granada (now Columbia) during the 18th Century as a tax collector. Don Julio took a different (and probably more popular) career path in 1913 when he established Destileria Colombiana. Don Julio Arango y Parra spent years researching the intricacies of rum production to become one of the finest Colombian rum producers in the Caribbean Zone. Due to its geographical position, Colombia is one of the three largest sugar cane producers in the world, assuring both high quality and high quantity harvests. Cartagena and its countryside are famous for being the first areas for sugar cane production in South America. Dictador's Rum creator is now the third generation Master Blender, Hernan Parra who continues the family's fine legacy and tradition.
